There were a bunch of other stupid names like Sorocold Way, but the best one was a nod toward Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, as Core Design, the original creators of the game, were based there./p
pThe voting is done, and I’m glad to say that the new Derby road will be named Lara Croft Way. More than 27,000 people voted, and a whopping 89% of them chose in favor of Ol’ Pointy Boobs McGee./p
pCouncillor Lucy Care, cabinet member for planning and transportation, said: “The vote really captured the imagination of people from across the world and, despite my lack of gaming knowledge, I accept that a majority of 89% for Lara Croft is too overwhelming to ignore.”/p
