​“The book was better.” It’s a common response when any geek sees a beloved novel or comic turned into a Major Motion Picture. And it’s very often true: a lot of films miss what made their original inspirations good, or they simply change some vitally important detail which wrecks the whole story. Often movies can’t capture whatever magic the book originally created. But sometimes those literary snobs are wrong. Sometimes the movie’s just better.

We’re going to skip the straight-laced, mainstream movie-book comparisons, seeing as how this site doesn’t regularly cover The Godfather or The Remains of the Day.
