I’ll just let the wonderful appropriateness of that sink in for a second.
…
Ready? Good. A listing for Transforrmers 3: The Dark of the Moon Push-Pops Board Book “popped” up on Amazon, with this summary of the movie. I suppose I should say spoiler warning, but I think it’s going to be hard-pressed your enjoyment of the film. The summary:
“The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus
Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are
determined to avenge their defeat in 2009′s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen.
In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a
perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human
Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new
characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a
longtime “Transformers” character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots
and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.”
We’ve got a long slog until TF3 is released, and I’m sure I’ll have plenty to be genuinely upset about, so I’ll save my ire for more deserving reveals. But I will say this: What is it about giant robots fighting that Michael Bay finds so dull? Seriously, now — Bay has gone out of his way to make sure that giant robot fighting is kept to a minimum in TF movies, whether the US military is being attacked by Decepticons who refuse to transform or whether he’d prefer to shoot footage of dogs fucking. And for TF3, it’s going to be about the US/Russia space race? In 2011? What the fuck is wrong with Autobots fighting Decepticons? (Via /Film)
