Hail Crom! First Theatrical Poster for Conan The Barbarian

conan

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women… and the new one-sheet for ‘Conan The Barbarian’, which looks awesome. Bringing back the adventures of Conan, originally portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, now starring Jason Mamoa, it looks like there’s a new barbarian on the block. Going from Stargate: Atlantis to Cimmerian warrior shouldn’t be too hard though, he’s just trading in his gun for a really sharp sword.

Now, Lionsgate Entertainment has released the official one-sheet poster for the upcoming remake directed by Marcus Nispel. A bad-ass homage to the late, great fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, if I may say.

Check out the full one-sheet after the jump.

The most legendary Barbarian of all time is back this Summer. Having thrived and evolved for eight consecutive decades in the public imagination – in prose and graphics, on the big screen and small, in games and properties of all kinds – Conan’s exploits in the Hyborian Age now come alive like never before in a colossal 3D action-adventure film.

Conan the Barbarian stars Jason Mamoa as the titular hero, a Cimmerian warrior who vows vengeance upon the nefarious Khalar Singh (Stephen Lang) following the murder of his parents. Ron Perlman co-stars as Conan’s father Corin, while Rachel Nichols plays the lead female character Tamara and Rose McGowan occupies the role of an evil witch; also starring Bob Sapp, Leo Howard and Said Taghmaou.

The remake for this fantasy/action/adventure is set for a August 19th, 2011 release and what better then in 3D.

Makes you wanna start praying to Crom now, doesn’t it?
