Ah finally the great debate can stop! Who will be playing Peter Parker in the new version of Spiderman, set to hit theaters in 3-D 7/3/2012? That would be Andrew Garfield, ladies and gentlemen! Yes, that lovable fat cat we all know and love….no wait, wrong Garfield. Ah yes, THIS Garfield.
Other actors who were testing for this role were Jamie Bell from 2008’s movie Jumper, Frank Dillane who was Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Aaron Johnson from Kick-ass. Sorry guys, you just didn’t kick enough ass to get the part.
He definitely looks the part so we here at NB are hoping that he is a good choice and will act the part well. He recently played Anton in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and did a great job in that, his acting chops are well proven already. He is 27 years old but still looks like he’s 15 and I’d say that is just what director Marc Webb was looking for. Congrats, Mr. Garfield! Do us proud.
