Bill Bing is a graduate of Dartmouth College (bachelor’s degree in philosophy, 2001) with experience in startup companies and venture capital. He is deeply interested in better understanding consumer behavior and using game mechanics to motivate customers and improve their experiences. Originally from Massachusetts, Bill was an early employee at Upromise, a leading online loyalty program with more than 12 million members and $500 million in member rewards. After Upromise was acquired by Sallie Mae in 2006, Bill joined Square 1 Bank, a venture bank founded in 2005 that provides services to venture firms and startup companies nationwide. At Square 1, Bill worked closely with hundreds of early-stage companies and venture firms, underwriting debt facilities and providing banking services.
In late 2007, Bill was offered the opportunity to help launch the organization’s newly conceived venture capital fund-of-funds. In his role as Principal and VP, he helped raise, invest and manage the firm’s initial fund, departing in early 2010 to found a new company. Bill is now Founder and CEO of Loyalese, Inc., a loyalty program that leverages social networks to encourage and reward customer loyalty and engagement. Loyalese is currently completing its Beta product with an expected launch by year-end.
Bill completed Singularity University’s 2010 Graduate Studies Program this summer. At SU, Bill learned about advancing technologies and how they might be applied to solve problems facing the world now and in the near future.
