Daniel Suarez is an independent systems consultant turned novelist. He has designed and developed enterprise software for the defense, finance, and entertainment industries. An avid gamer and technologist, he lives in Los Angeles, California, and has published a pair of techno-thriller novels. The first book, Daemon (Dutton: 2009), involves a dangerous artificial intelligence that begins to enter and then manipulate the physical, human world after its programmer’s death. The followup book, Freedom, released in 2010, continues to track the world-threatening A.I. as it wrecks havoc on the global economic, logistical, and military infrastructures.
