Paramount Pictures has release a new teaser trailer for the upcoming CGI animated film from Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski. The film is called Rango, and it looks incredibly odd and strange, but at the same time joyfully entertaining. I love movies that are on the weird end of the spectrum.
The movie is based on an original idea that Verbinski dreamed up. It tells story follows a chameleon with an identity crisis who goes on an adventure to discover his true self. Johnny Depp provides the voice of the main character Rango.
The movie co-stars Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winstone, and Timothy Olyphant.
The animation is being done by Industrial Light & Magic, and apparently they are using cutting edge animation techniques to bring these characters to life.Verbinski has said that these new techniques “will allow us to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny’s performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen in an animated feature.”
Check out the trailer below and let us know what ya think!
