This was, without doubt, one of the great hidden gems of last week’s Comic Con. You can tell a trailer is overflowing with awesome when it stops passersby in their tracks. Seriously, we’re talking Comic Con here, folks. SDCC is the one place where normally eye popping awesomeness is merely meh. You’re simply surrounded by so much color and action, vying for your attention, that it’s pretty much impossible for anything to really stand out.
But this certainly did. Heck, it was a crowd stopper. Of course, it’s the new trailer for DC Universe Online, the superhero MMO that supposed to be released this fall. While I have a few doubts about the release date, I have none about the pure awesomeness of this trailer. Obviously, the devs have added a few elements to the storyline of the game, in that there is an actual deadly war of some kind between the heroes and villains, as opposed to the non-lethal fighting they normally do. Well, whatever the ultimate story turns out to be, this is an utterly fantastic start. Have a gander:
